Erdinger wheat beers owe their characteristic delicate yeasty taste and their special quality to our closely guarded brewing recipes and the purity of our spring water:

Erdinger wheat beers are brewed using water from our own sources - water which has been stored deep underground since the last Ice Age (10-15,000 years ago), where it has been kept cool and pure by the surrounding rocks ready to be enjoyed by you as a refreshing glass of Erdinger Weissbier! This special water is pumped up from a depth of 157.5 meters.

Of course, we also brew our beers in strict accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law. Dating from 1516, it is the oldest law governing foodstuffs anywhere in the world and still in force today. Then, as now, the law ensures that only the purest ingredients are used.

Only the finest 'flavor hops' from the Hallertau region are used to brew Erdinger wheat beers. The best wheat and barley malts guarantee Erdinger's unique taste experience - fully matured through the natural fermentation process of our fresh, powerful, top-fermenting yeast.

Together with pure, fresh spring water, these ingredients are combined to create a superbly refreshing drink - Erdinger Weissbier!
